Heaps of good music, promotion of local talent either musical, skate, busking, dance

Bio - ASYP was formerly the Corangamite Youth Committee. The committee has been running for over 10 years, with FReeZA funding for the past two. In the early days we ran band concerts that paid for themselves - not so now with rising costs. Thanks to FReeZA $ we can continue to run safe and fun stuff for young people in our area.

Crew - Members are from throughout our Shire - rural young people. Interests are varied - rock, screamo, hard core, punk, and skating, sport, music, IT, surfing,……….Ages range from 14 - 20 at present

Events - Free or dirt cheap transport to and from events. Heaps of good music, promotion of local talent either musical, skate, busking, dance.

Highlights - Corefest Playoffs and Push Start heats are always our highlight - so many young musos hanging out for their first taste of performing to a big crowd and having judges feedback so they can learn and improve. Our president won an Australia Day Young Citizen award for '07.

Benefits - We have had lots of local bands that have been really successful and started as young tackers at our events - Thirteen Monkeys, Cashdog (now Stryde), The Killpatrics, Jurassic Crusade to name just a few. When you see band members they say that they really appreciate the opportunities they got way back at the start through FReeZA events. Affordable events just for youth that you don't have to travel for two hours to get to - there would be NONE if not for FReeZA. Sometimes footy clubs run something but it isn't the same. And Y P like to go to an event where their parents are not there but there is still security and first aid, and they get to know who is on the committee to seek out someone if they need to. And most importantly, the ASYP committee become a really close knit "team of diversity", learn heaps and know that they are doing good things in the community. Our annual four park skate comp is really popular - finally the skaters, bladers and BMXers get to show off and have four goes at competing against one another - very healthy competitiveness too! We added demo's last year and that was the icing on the cake.

Support - Schools are really helpful by allowing us to see members at recess when an event gets close for last minute stuff when necessary, welcoming us to use newsletters, bulletins, sell tickets, put up posters in their buildings. (Mercy Regional College, Camperdown College, Terang College, Cobden Technical School, Timboon P12 School, Derrinallum College) Businesses such as First National Real Estate, Port Campbell Surf and Skate, Oppy Cycles and Spares and heaps of others sponsor our annual Skate Comp series. Timboon District Health Service and Cobden District Health Service allow their youth workers to assist the FReeZA facilitator to run events - VERY helpful and appreciated.

Bio - Our Committee was reactivated in 2005 after an exodus of older Committee members due to work and study commitments. Since reforming we have consistently staged well attended FreeZA gigs including several marathon Battle of the Bands plus a variety of music events that have been linked withlocal Festivals. After the success of last year's street stage at the Apollo Bay Music Festival, we are kicking off 2009 with a Youth stage showcasing the regions local talent

Crew - For the 2nd year running, the group is made up mostly of girls with varying taste in music but are all equally excited for the years events.

Events - We are looking forward to something different in July with Art Arvo, our Art Show, another massive Battle of the Bands, and of course Rocktober later in the year.

Highlights - Our best ever FreeZA achievement was having to close the doors at 9.00am for the Battle of the Bands as it was sold out.

Benefits - A chance for young people to get together and have a great time, meet new people and be safe

Advice - Working together as a team.

Community Support - We have fantastic support from the local Colac Police (members of the Committee) local hospital Colac Area Health (members of the Committee) and local government, Colac Otway Shire. We also usually get great support from our local businesses including KFC, Subway, the local radio station MIXFM, Leading Edge music and our local music shop, "Sounds Magic".

As our name suggests we aim to entertain.

Bio - FRidGE Entertainment. Warrnambool has been involved in the FReeZA program since it started. Although many other committee members have come and gone the philosophy stays the same and that is (Fun, Rocking, Involved, Diverse, Group of Entertainers - FRidGE

Crew - committee consists of 12 Members. Adrian and Jade provides support so we can put on gigs for our peers.

Events - As our name suggest we aim to entertain. We provide events that showcase local talent and provide punters with the chance to see there mates on stage

Highlights - Without exception our best event is HARDWIRED. In 2006 we had around 1600 punters to the event. With Youth Group headlining the gig pumping out their hit Forever Young and with 4 other supports this night was sensational

FReeZA means - A chance for youth to become involved and participate in either entertaining or being entertained. The program provides us with the chance to have a social outlet and bring benefits to the committee where we can learn a bit about the music industry.

Community Support - We do get some local support, mainly from Coast FM the local Radio and The Warrnambool Standard our local newspaper.

People can expect to rock out to some awesome live (and usually local) music with like minded people.

Crew - Our committee has had many different people from many different backgrounds over the last ten years. At the moment our committee consists of around 8 parts Metal, 2 parts Blues, 2 parts Hip-Hop and a spoonful of insanity. Mix well and serve. ( *** Warning *** Equinox Productions cannot actually be eaten).  Luke has worked in one form or another at the Courthouse Youth Arts Centre for the last 4 years. Not so long before this he was organising and attending FReeZA gigs as a committee member. As of January 2007 he has taken on the role FReeZA worker and so far hasn't resorted to violence of any kind.

Events - People can expect to rock out to some awesome live (and usually local) music with like minded people without the worry of some drunk fool vomiting on your shoe and then asking if he can buy your shoe because the bar staff won't serve him anymore. Apart from Live music you can find us laughing our collective a*** off at one of our comedy nights or kicking back and watching some great (and not so great, let's be honest) short films made by local VCE film makers.

Highlights - So hard to choose! so far this year the highlight has been our Masquerade Ball in March to celebrate the long awaited EP launch of local New Gothic band "Silhouette". "Silhouette" were the winners of our Push Start regional final in 2006. They teamed up with "Lamort" who did the same thing the year before and put on an awesome show complete with a 12 ft tall creepy Spider beast roaming the crowd looking for it's next meal. Check out the following MySpace for some needed visuals www.myspace.com/equinoxyouthevents (external link).

Benefits - I'm sure everyone across the state says the same thing (so maybe it's true) but there isn't much around these parts for young people who have no interest in learning a sport, playing sport or watching sport. We try to fill that void as often as possible.

Bio-FOOT-in-the-DOOR is a vibrant youth program that runs during the Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF). Its purpose is to help emerging young artists showcase their talents, and as the name suggests get a 'foot in the door' in the music industry. It gives young artists the chance to perform live in front of an audience at a nationally acclaimed Music Festival, which is a very valuable and rewarding experience for those selected artists. The FOOT-in-the-DOOR youth program also aims to bring young people from the Borough of Queenscliffe together to get involved in the QMF and with their community.

There is also a FOOT-in-the-DOOR competition which is managed and run by young people, and it aimed at helping young emerging artists perform and compete at the QMF.

Crew – Members of the FOOT-in-the-DOOR committee gain a hands-on learning experience helping to develop skills in areas such as music management, event management, stage management and marketing just to name a few. Committee members range in age and musical tastes but all share a common passion for the local music scene and their local music festival.

Events – Our main FOOT-in-the-DOOR program runs over the QMF weekend (last weekend in November). Throughout the year the FOOT-in-the-DOOR committee run all ages gigs in conjunction with the Queenscliff Music Festival and the Borough of Queenscliffe. Past events have seen bands such as; Xavier Rudd, The Beautiful Girls, Magic Dirt, Pre-Shrunk, Mach Pelican, Carus & The True Believers, The Little Stevies, Jen Cloher, Rob Sawyer, thePeriscopes, and many more.

Highlights - One of our festivals proudest moments was in 2007 seeing local band, thePeriscopes, grace one of our main stages for the first time. They'd come out throught the FOOT-in-the-DOOR program as competitors, section headliners, and in 2007 they blew everyone away on a main stage.

Benefits - FReeZA provides local youths the opportunity to develop skills within the music industry at a hands on level. What better place to learn the industry than in amongst a major music festival?! It also provides local artists/bands/musicians the opportunity to showcase their music at a major music festival.

Bio - The Southern Grampians FReeZA committee has been kicking along for about 10 years now with members from all walks of life that just love music! The Southern Grampians FReeZA committee thinks its important young people plan and develop FReeZA events, as they know what other young people actually want!

Crew – This year our crew consists of 10 fun and wacky young people with different interests and hobbies who are aged between 14 – 19 years. We meet weekly to plan up coming events and have all become good mates, we enjoy all types of music including hip hop, dance, trance, metal, rock and classical.

Events –  When people turn up to our events they will never be disappointed and always have a blast! We work very hard to make sure we deliver the type of event you want; we also make sure our events happen in a both safe fun and safe location so you parents can relax.

Highlights - We have had many highlights throughout the years, however our favourites this year have been the FReeZA Boom fest night and the ‘Full Metal Sandwich’ FReeZA which was dedicated to local metal bands in our region.

Benefits - FReeZA gives the young people in the Southern Grampians some safe, low cost, drug and alcohol free entertainment options that were not before available to them. It gives young bands and performers the chance to get live experience playing in front of their peers and through the committee gives other young people a chance to get their opinions heard and put into action while learning skills in event management and team work.

Community Support – do any local businesses, schools or community organisations contribute to your FReeZA events? Please name them
