People can expect to have heaps of fun at our events

Bio - Our committee consists of about 10 active young people which come from various parts of the City of Whittlesea. We work together as a group to provide events to other young people in our surrounding suburbs. This is a program in which young people have been organising events for over 10 years.

Crew - The Queen takes Jack FReeZA committee members are all into different types of music. We think that FReeZA events are a valuable part of the community. With the age group ranging from 15 to 25, we are able to get different opinions from the different age groups, which helps develop our committee.

Our interests cover all genres, from heavy metal, rock, punk and indie right through to R&B and dance, enabling us to cater for all of the needs of the community's youth. Every year we have new and exciting people apply to join the committee, which helps keep the committee fresh and we also get to meet new people who bring amazing and bright ideas.

Events -  When people come to our gigs they can expect to be a part of a great, fun-filled, cheap night out which contains a variety of kickarse music supplied by the young people from all areas of the local community. Also we aim to make young people see these events as a well run and organised environment in which they feel safe to relax and enjoy themselves while interacting with mates and listening to some awesome tunes.

Highlights - The last battle of the bands that we held was probably the most successful and entertaining event to date that the current committee has put together. With plenty of young people from the community turning up and a great band lineup. It turned out to be a fantastic night for all!!!  This has now set the standard for all future events.

Also we held a bushfire fundraiser event with all proceeds going towards the bushfire appeal. Although we didn't get the best turnout it was a personal highlight for the committee because we were able to further help others in our own community who are affected by the fires.

Benefits - Due to our area being slightly isolated, FReeZA means that young people have something to do. We are also currently trying to organise a bus to drive from Kinglake/Whittlesea to bring more young people to the events who normally don’t because it is too far.

Bio – Amped Up Productions has been running for around ten years now. Throughout these ten years our philosophy has been to put on entertaining affordable and downright funky shows for young people in Moreland and beyond. Our less well known motto is "Fight the Machine.."

Crew – our committee consists of youth from 12-25 years who live work or study in the Moreland City Council region. Vivienne is small and enjoys Thai Take-out, walking her great dane, the violent femmes and Deal or No Deal. She is the mother figure and comforts us when various dilemmas arise. Simon is the planner. He makes sure we plan everything efficiently. Our gigs run smoothly because of him. His favourite band is 7th Angel. On the weekend he enjoys working out and going on winery tours with his wife.

Events – People can expect fun, unique, hip, energetic shows when turning up to an Amped Up Event. Throughout the existence of our committee we have staged such performances as: punk, post-hardcore, ska, rockabilly, folk, funk, reggae, rock and many other themed shows.

FReeZA Highlights - The Halloween gig, collaborating with Moonee Valley for a hardcore show. The room was filled and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and amazing music.

Community Support – sometimes we get sponsors like guitar world, audrey studios, vox singing school.

Bio – Living Music FReeZA Crew is still a baby but growing fast, we were born March 2008.

Crew - We have 7 brilliant committee members each with their own specialty. Our members range from 18 years to 27 years of age bringing a unique spectrum of experience. However we have only 1 female member to try to balance the gender equilibrium. The two FReeZA Workers have established careers within the Australian music scene. John Favaro has been a professional since 20 years of age, toured numerous times around Australia and was part of a multi ARIA award winning band. Andrew McSweeney established Living Music 9 years ago and has been working with at risk young people through music. He is also a solo artist and bass player in numerous local bands. All in all we are a fantastic team and look forward to the future!

Events - We are approaching our first gig with FReeZA and thanks to other FReeZA crew’s successes which we have learnt from we are sure our first will be a great triumph. Our ‘Underground Loop Version II CD Launch’ showcases rising Melbourne Hip-Hop artists who are a part of Living Music’s Underground Loop Music Mentorship Program.

Highlights – The Living Music FReeZA Crew is special because unlike any other group we are focused upon the Underground Loop Music Mentorship Program. We give young people at risk a chance to have their voices heard by promoting positive influences and avenues of expression.

Benefits - FReeZA and Living Music combined give the young people involved a platform to perform their works and receive recognition within the wider community. The mentorship project brings together established artists with aspiring young artists who deserve a break!

Community – Jesuit Social Services, Department of Human Services and The City of Melbourne all provide much needed support.

Bio
– FIAB has been around for 10 years. We try and do as many gigs as possible and learn as much about the music industry as a whole. Great friendships have been made in the committee and we always welcome new people to our group.

Crew – We have 20 people from 15 years to 23 years. At the moment there are a lot more boys than girls.

Events - People can expect a lot of loud music and a lot of people. We try and put on different types of events but mostly we do screamo/punk/metal gigs. We do what we can to make our gigs better than other ones such as providing good food, chill out room and friendly security.

Highlights - Our ‘Big Gig’ last year was an achievement as it was the first time we had bigger bands play and a bigger venue. Even though we were hoping for more people to come it was a great experience for us to get out of our comfort zone and work harder at making the show a success. We had to do everything professionally from a publicity campaign to putting the show on. We all learnt a lot about the music industry from this gig.

Benefits - FReeZA is the only way bands in the area can get a gig and get started. For those that want to put on shows and be a part of the scene they can join the committee.

Community Support – Dominoes have donated us Pizza, Planet 13 and Jetty Surf always help us to promote our gigs. Link U, an outreach service run by Banyule Council always stop by and help out at gigs, as well as telling young people in the area about gigs we have coming up and the committee.

Crew - Currently the group consists of 6 young people aged between 16 and 22. They all share a love of music and Event Management .

Events - Noise Construction events are full of life, fun and Music. We focus our planning to hardcore/ punk persuasion, but are planning to have more variety of Events this year. We are always looking to find new ideas for new events.

Highlights - The major acheivement of 2007 was the 2007 2Loud music event. The committee organised the event with out supervision and it attracted more than 350 young people. The headline band was an act from interstate by the name of Wish for wings. The Noise construction committee were very proud of the Event even though, it was pulled together in such a short time.

Benefits - FReeZA allows local bands to start gaining a name for themselves. It gives them the experience of playing in front of a real audience. For the public, it gives the youth something to do, somewhere to go and enjoy music and socialise with others.

MC's will be 'freestylin' it out to the latest Hiphop tracks and the DJ's will be scratching grandma's records to make that "wiki wiki" sound! Poppers and Lockers and Housers will be coming down too, our events are something like the parties in the movie Wildstyle :) Cop some heat from the Competitions, Cyphers (Freestyle Jams) and Battles. The Halloween dance party was a fantastic night with everyone attending dressing up in their favourite Halloween costumes ranging from vampires to belly dancers. Our disability dance party was held in November 2008 and was so successful that we have decided to hold one or two more themed fancy partied this year.
