Indigo Rocks FReeZA
Indigo Rocks FReeZA is a exciting program with 22 members on the FReeZA committee. They offer a range of events, gigs, open mics, art exhibitions, the North East Skate Park Series and music mentoring programs. Their highlights are the Shed at the Yack Folk Fest, the Push Start Battle of the Bands and the final three events in the NESPS which are all under lights and feature bands, acoustic music, dance music, art exhibitions and other youth activities. As they live across a large area they use facebook a lot in between meetings, and then at their events which generally are held fortnightly.
Pumped Up consists of 15 enthusiastic, energetic, and innovative young people aged from 13 – 20 years old. They endeavor to run a variety of cultural, music and community orientated events that are fun, new and inclusive. In the past 5 years they have coordinated skate jams, pool parties, street art workshops and local musician nights. The committee meet weekly at the Mansfield Secondary College and fortnightly at the Mansfield Shire Council Chambers. The team is currently planning a short film workshop in September and a local jam night during the ‘Spring Arts Festival’ in early November followed by their annual ‘Skate Park Jam’.
